Hi, going up in a couple of weeks with dads and daughters. We plan to base camp on Horse Lake and would like to take a day trip up to Lower Basswood Falls. I am understanding there are pictos near the falls, but am unsure exactly where. It would be fun for the girls to see those. I appreciate any assistance and pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!

Down river about a mile below the falls on cliffs on the left side.

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog is too dark to read.

Michael Furtman - Pictographs You might check this book - My grandkids did some research before looking for the pictographs.

After you take the portage around Lower Basswood Falls, head north towards Crooked Lake. About a mile up, on your left, is the rock wall with the pictos.
