Planning a Wabakimi trip. Is it safe to park my truck at Smye Lake entry on SW side of WPP or Harmon Lake South of WPP in Brightsands PP? On the West or South side of WPP I'm having trouble finding anyone that shuttles vehicles. Suggestions?

I parked at Smye lake the last 2 years with no problem.
Note: Use the second 4WD track that you come to if traveling northbound on 702.
Also, it is a good idea to walk in that track first. There is a little stream that could give you some trouble depending on your vehicle and recent rain.

Watch for bootsucking mud at the Flindt end of the Wilkie-Flindt portage.

And I left some firewood at the campsite located: 50.39180, -90.19296

Same here for Smye. I spoke to the locals in Savant Lake village. Apparently very few actually get in there anymore. You should be fine.

If you don't have Wabakimi Project Maps Vol. 3, you should definitely get it. The whole area is contained in that volume.

Sbuttles and services at that side of the park are few. I'd suggezt posting a possible vehicle swap depending on your route.
Try the outfitters in Armstrong, posting on myccr or tbe train and shuttle back up tbe 401rd--there's a fly-in fish camp/outfitter just south of Savant village tbat might be able to do it.

BnD - Are you looking for shuttle? Rusty Meyer has an outpost very near the 599-702 intersection, I believe. There is also the Trappers Point Camp just south a mile or so.

Thanks JC I am exploring all realistic options from the West side and trying to exclude the train primarily due to train schedule. Parking my truck and returning to my truck is option A for us. Option B would be finding a shuttle service. I cannot justify the fly in/fly out costs. It seems to me the fly in outpost camp operators have a vested interest in making access to and through WPP as difficult as possible. From the info I have gleaned Graham Rd to Harmon Lake is a 4 hour affair that is doable but less than appealing. That brings me to entering off 599 at Smye Lake or going further North still and enter at Pashkakogan through McCrea/Greenbush etc.... Appreciate the information.

Smye is very accessible.
I actually drove my Prius in there in 2016.
The parking area is secluded and not visible from the 702 Rd.

It's just after km marker 41 on the right. It's a four-wheel drive track through the forest about 100 yards or so that opens into a clearing. A rock cairn may still be visible next to the road --- it was fairly overgrown with grass and bushes the last time I was up there last year.

the track you want starts at 50.380259, -90.369601
Not the one at 50.380409, -90.372347
Use Google maps and see it.
