Came across a crushed canoe in Kennebas Falls on my June solo. Fourth time through the Falls Chain, first time noticing the canoe crushed in the debris of the Falls. Anyone here know the story behind this? I assume it is not a good one...

I don't know the story of the canoe BUT............once about fifteen or so years ago we came to the falls from Kawnipi to see a group of divers. They were doing a body recovery search, to no avail. Three young men had been heading upstream and apparently pushed off above the falls before they were ready to paddle and too close to the current. They were swept over the falls. Two popped up but the third young man died. It was a very sad and somber group of divers.
