Hello

Does anyone know where I can find some replacements twin cities area.

I loaned my canoe to a friend. Mice got into it and made a huge mansion. I flushed one out while cleaning it out.

The canoe has more dents than I can count, but I do want to get these replaced before taking it to the BWCA.
Maybe use some closed cell expanding foam.

I think you'll need to carve them yourself. I'll check today at work and see if I still have some chunks for you to work with.

I assume that you drilled out the bulkhead rivets to remove the MiCeMansion (foam).

I would fill the Mickey Mouse bedrooms in the existing foam block with the 2 part expanding foam. Let it cure and trim it down to match the adjacent surfaces. Put the foam blocks back into place and re-rivet the bulkheads. That should wind up being about a 1 hour endeavour.

Good luck with your urban renewal project.

I have thought of that. I have called Osagian and left message. I called alumcraft and left message. I was able to get a hold of their sales but not there parts representative. I can get the two part foam on ebay, but I would like to get it locally. Westmarine has it on there website. They are over twice the price for half the amount.

Arcola if you are able that would be great.
I do have some scrap 2 inch foam that I could cut and layer in.

thanks for the advice.

Thanks so much, but I did find that Express Composite in Minneapolis sells the two part pourable foam. I am headed over there soon to try and pick some of that up. It is about 26.00 for 2 qts a and b.

Well I would have but I had already left. I did find out some other info for anybody else out there. One parts guy I talked to said he has tried to order them from Aluamcraft, but was unable to. An Osagian representative did get back to me and said it would be 30.00 each plus shipping for any of there models. The number he called from was 417-991-2677

Right now I finished up spraying them down with a 25% bleach solution, before going forward with foaming it up.

I don't know how "regular" faces not against aluminum are but at least one kevlar model uses a sheet - like 1" or so - for top and face - caulk to hull - fill void with foam peanuts or even use it as the basis for spray. Just a thought - a lot less carving.

I know you've already purchased what you need, but why not use the spray cans of expanding, insulating foam to fill the voids left by the mice? I'm referring to the type used in construction around doors and windows. Sets up quickly, easily trimmed.
