Good Afternoon Everyone,

My buddies and I (4 people, 2 canoes) have been partaking in an annual fall trip the last 5 years. No bugs, but the fishing is definitely more difficult than in the Summer. Less people also account for a more natural experience. We've found that the Northern Lights also tend to be a normal occurrence just about every night that time of year as well.

We are looking for a great route we haven't tried before, with great fishing: walleye and smallies mainly, moving water always a plus.

To give you an idea of trips we have done in the past:
- Basswood River system via Fall Lake
- Magnetic to Granite River into Sag to Seagull
- Lakes 1, 2, 3, 4, Hudson and Insula
- West of American Point/Knife Lake and back NE through Amoeber to Ashdick

I was looking at entry point 16 in the NW Bdubs, since we have never been over in this section of the park, but have yet to look at a Mckenzie map with lake contours . I would be open to any area though, as long as the fishing is good and the fall colors are prime!

Appreciate the help in advance.

Cheers!

Gabbros to Bald Eagle and Isabella River. Do a shuttle and go from Hog Creek to Gabbros or Farm Lake/Lake One pick up?

I have 3 ideas:

1. Kawishiwi Lake Entry 37. Head north to Mahlberg. Then go northwest into the Adams/Boulder Lakes area. Mahlberg is a destination Lake for walleyes. The Adams/Boulder area has good fishing reports from time to time.

2. Kawishiwi Lake Entry 37. Lady Lakes Chain. Get a shuttle from Sawbill Outfitters to Kawishiwi Lake. You will be ending at Sawbill Lake. Head north to Lake Polly and the turn east to Hazel, Knight, Phobe, Grace, Beth, and Alton Lakes. Fish Polly, Phoebe, Grace, Beth, Alton, and Sawbill.

3. Sawbill Lake Entry 38. Cherokee Lake Loop. Head east out of Sawbill into the Fire Lakes (Smoke, Flame, and Burnt). Continue east to Kelly Lake and turn north to South Temperance. Continue north to North Temperance and then turn west through Sitka Lake to Cherokee. Head back southout of Cherokee through Skoop and Ada to Sawbill. The Fire Lakes have good fishing. Kelly and Jack as well. The real destination is South Temperance for fishing. With the water turning colder, you might try for lake trout on Cherokee. Don't forget to fish Sawbill Lake. There are fine walleye and bass there too.

For a totally different area - You might check the Echo Trail entry points.
entry #14 - Little Indian Sioux River North
entry #16 - Moose River North
Loop between the two ( In-#14-Little Indian Sioux North, east thru Shell Lynx Oyster, Agnes-out #16 Moose river North) or independent loops from each entry.
My preference is in #16 -Moose River North up to LLC - Irving Island Pictographs-Iron Lake-Curtain Falls - With the short days of late fall - you will not be able to make many miles. You could base camp in Tiger Bay and have good day trip options.

that is a fabulous area in late fall - lots of birch and amazing color.

be careful on LLC - a stiff wind and that lake can get tough in minutes.
