I'll be going in the last week of Sept for a 7 day trip and am thinking about using some live bait on this trip. In the past I've stuck with artificial baits and I'm curious if folks would choose leeches or crawlers for this time of year?

I'm not sure leeches are still available that time of the year. So I would probably go with crawlers.

I was wondering about that, thanks!

I suck at fall fishing but the best live bait presentation I have found in the fall is a jig and big minnows. If you don't want to take live minnows you can always salt some sucker minnows.

I second that. Most walleye fisherman I know have switched over to minnows by then.

The water temps will have dropped by then, and keeping minnows alive with minimal care should not be a problem.
