I purchased this REI mug in about 1996 (newer versions aren't the same) and it's been on every BW trip since then (1st pic from last October). Lost it during ice fishing last season, didn't make my opener trip. Yes, I found my old friend today!!! and yes, I enjoy my cocktails in the ice house stored at my house. i was so happy over a simple item. only if it could talk :) :)

Mine is a Sno-peak single wall Titanium mug/pot. I really like it for around camp. It also has a lid so the coffee stays hot for a long time. Warm ups are easy, just put it on the campfire or stove and it's hot again. It also has a silicone clip on piece so you don't burn your mouth, because it stays hot. It's 700 ml so it's big enough to use as a cooking pot for boil and dump meals.

I thought Lefty might be posting...

And in other news, the show's not the same since Garrison's left.

I have not liked single wall titanium mugs / cups as coffee gets cold very quickly indeed. And I despise drinking hot stuff out of plastic. Now that I have trashed other people's choices (LOL) we can move right along ;-)

I have a 16 Oz stainless steel cup with wire handle, commonly available, and it has been with me for several decades. Keeps stuff hot a reasonable length of time and is indestructible (more or less). I can heat the water in it as well simplifying the entire process.......bada-bing.

Mine is a 20 oz. stainless insulated travel mug that my daughter bought for me when she worked at Starbucks. It is almost bombproof but not quite. The coffee stays hot for a reasonable length of time. The real reason I like it is because the handle fits over the side of my canoe thus no rolling around or cup holder required.

If you want a cup to keep coffee hot for hours get a Stanley thermos cup. Pour some hot water in it for about 10 minutes to preheat it then add your joe. Stuff stays hot for at least 4-5 hours.

I love my 20oz Yeti, but for the BW I use the GSI Minimalist all the way. We use for coffee, meals and making desserts! ;-)

I still have the same steel mug I took up there on my first trip back in 88. I think it might be an REI mug, can't even remember.

I use a snow peak 700 Ti cup. It's my coffee cup or my my cooking pot for solo tripping.

I just use an insulated promotional giveaway mug with lid from the Columbus Marathon. It keeps my coffee hot for a long time even in Sept.

Likewise. Not a fan of single wall as I burned the heck out of my luscious lips once.

Started out with an aluminum one but hated burning my lips all the time. Been using old school plastic ever since and don't see myself changing anytime soon.

We use those double insulated stainless or aluminum mugs with lids from Midwest Mountaineering. They are on the small side but the coffee stays hot in them and they are fairly light weight and pack easily.

My REI cup given as a gift is a good one. Only draw back is weight, so sometimes it takes a back seat to an old holiday gas mug.

+1. This is mine as well.

Always used these, from the time we bought our cook kit in '73. The green ones at first, and I think it was shortly thereafter that Spartan1 bought himself that yellow one to distinguish "his" cup of coffee from mine. But always plastic cups.

Yep, it's been on 4 trips in the BWCA. I bought a good ole blue enamel one for my hiking kit out here in Washington. So far so good. I do prefer a ceramic mug though.

Last summer I picked up a glow in the dark brandable camp mug while at Philmont and got it decorated with some of the brands in use on the ranch while in the backcountry. Its been my camping mug ever since. It's nice and thick so its somewhat insulated for hot beverages but doesn't keep super hot things that hot for too long.

It's all about nostalgia, I use an old Sierra cup that went on my first trip in 1984. Here it is hanging on the gunwale, ready for my next drink:

Sno-peak double wall Titanium, Midwest Mountaineering labled, purchased with a promotional 50% off coupon. Also got a free beer while shopping for it.
The mug had such a good start and has been a favorite since.

Me too. I like that I can set it on the edge of the fire grate or on my winter stove to keep contents warm.
