We take a yearly trip to the BWCA. Last year, due to a heavy overnight storm, we did not pack up and organize the gear like we should. As such, it seems things got left behind.
While packing for this year's trip, we discovered that a ton of gear is missing, probably left at a portage. We lost a large white mesh bag that we use to hang dry the dishes. In that bag was an REI large family cookset with two pots and two pikes that can be used as frying pans. Also, two grippers to handle the pots, a camp stove, silverware set, 9" frying pan with folding handle, Sea to Summit silverware and various plates/cups/ etc.
We camped on Horseshoe, came out through Caribou, liz then the Poplar public landing.
It's a long shot, but who knows. Here's to good luck.

I told your story to Carl at Rockwood, no news but maybe he can poke around a little. The vast majority of BW trippers are pretty sympathetic about loss of gear, maybe it will turn up.

Undoubtedly the coolest thing about the internet. I probably know 50 of you guys personally but the expanded network is probably 25,000 at least. You can get stuff done. The guys at Rockwood are the real deal, I contacted them and this happened in a few minutes.

Cayaks... have you seen the responses to your post yet?
This is unbelievable... I had this pegged as a 100% no-chance-in-the-world type of post. I hope that's your gear.

I've never registered for an alt account in the 10 years I've been hanging around... Is an email required for new user registration/activation? If yes, then Adam would have access to that information. This could be an acceptable overreach of his access to the backend information.

Still no word from Cayaks. Our email is info@rockwoodbwca.com and we are mid-trail on the Gunflint Trail. We can meet in Grand Marais if that helps. Our phone is 218-388-2242 please leave a message as we are crazy busy right now. I'm certain this is your stuff, I found it on the portage from Caribou to Horseshoe last August.

That's awesome, Carl. I don't know what's more unbelievable... someone finding their gear from a year ago (obviously you, in this case) and it's still complete and intact, or your willingness to do whatever it takes to accommodate it's return to the owner including driving it to Grand Marais. Canoeing people are good people.

Thank you. We love it up here and want the best for people that come in contact with Rockwood Lodge & Outfitters. BWCA.com has been good to us so we want to return the favor!

Hi all.
THANK YOU ALL SO INCREDIBLY MUCH.
First, many apologies to all. I posted this thinking there would be no chance of ever getting a response so I didn't follow replies as closely as I should have. Then I was away in the Canadian Rockies for awhile with little to no connection back home.
I needed to be more diligent in following this post.
I will be reaching out to people to get my stuff returned. Luckily, I'm heading to the BWCA over Labor Day weekend.
THANK YOU ALL VERY, VERY MUCH!

Does anyone know what website to use if one loses things in the Canadian Rockies?
