I am going up in a couple of weeks, and am getting my tackle finalized. I have read every post about Zulu rigs, and gotten Queticomike's article, and had a question about swivels. It seems like I would want to get high quality swivels.

I have seen people refer to them as SPRO size 3 or 4, but when I check online at Amazon, Basspro, etc.... they seem to have a different numbering scale. These , are the only ones I could find that come in a 3 and 4 size, but I can't find them for sale anywhere but the actual SPRO site. Are these the ones I should use?

The more common ones seem to be These but the sizes are all different. The weights seem to go down as the numbers go up. Any advice as to what I should get would be appreciated.

I am on my phone now, but looking at that link those swivels look to large. You want a quality ball bearing swivel, but the length of those swivels sound too large. I don't think they are much longer than a half inch. I will have to check when I get home. Maybe I can find you better on line? You have the right size I use either 3 or 4. But those don't look to be the right size.

Thanks for the reply, Mike. I actually went back to a picture you posted of the rigging and think I might have answered my own question. I think these might be right?

Mike - Curious - if you're tying two knots to the swivel, is there a reason you prefer the split rings to the welded rings?

Perfect. Thanks for the information. Looking forward to getting back up there and trying them out.

Never really worried about one or the other. These were the ones at Gander Mt. that were the correct make and size. I didn't put much thought into whether it is a split or welded ring. I haven't noticed any real disadvantage. Never had a malfunction.
