I bought a Thermacell to use out on our deck (the skeeters seem to be worse in Pennsylvania than the BWCA).
I have a question. The pads for my thermacell are good for 4 hours. If I only use the thermacell for 90 minutes do I just leave the pad in there until the next time or do I need to remove it and store it in some sort of airtight container like a zip lock or something?

I agree with JPJ. I live mine in until the next use. If I haven't used it in a month or so I throw it away. I have had a lot of success with Thermacell's. I purchaed a new model a couple months back that fits on an isobutane canister. Works well in the garage/shop/patio.

Same as everyone else has already said. If it's been more than a few days, I just toss them. If it's a quick turnaround between use then it's good to go. The replacements are pretty inexpensive so not a big deal if they get too dried out.

A bit off topic - I heard on Wisconsin Public Radio (Larry Meiller show mid-day) that if you are at a place that has electricity, the best defense against mosquitoes is to get a box fan and have it blowing air on you. They said mosquitoes have a hard time flying in the wind. The DNR guy who was on the show agreed.

Has anyone had any experience with recharging a depleted mat?
