I am heading to burntside for the first time in early September I want to try and target lakers for the first time thinking about running leadcore for them with spoons. Having never fished for them before what kind of depth ranges should I look for? Any other tips for a laker newbie?

I hope you have a fish finder. I'd target a variety of depths. Trout could be 40-100 ft. It just depends on the lake and time of year. Trout will come up to hit a lure sometimes up to 20ft. So if your fishing in 100ft of water and the trout are at 60ft. make sure your lure is at least 40ft. Be persistent and try different lures as well. Good luck.
