I know this topic is beat to death, and I've read a few of the threads, but with new Down bags this year, I don't want to get a cheap/wrong bag and end up with a wet sleeping bag.
Which dry bag would ya'll use for the Big Agnes Lost Ranger? It's a 15 degree Down mummy style bag with integrated sleeve for an inflatable pad, if that gives you an idea of its size.
I read some comments that said to get a size small, which seems like the bag wouldn't fit. Granite Gear is one option: Small 10L Granite Gear eVent Sil Compression Drysack ($30) (they also offer 18 and 25 liter sizes).
For Sea to Summit, what's the difference between 10L Sea to Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack ($35) and 10L Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Compression Dry Sack ($40)? Ultra-Sil is $5 more, but I'm not clear about the benefit.

First, the benefit of the one over the other is that they are made of different materials and one is lighter with the tradeoffs that entails.
Look up your bag on the Big Agnes site and it will tell you the stuff sack size and compressed size, which you can compare to the specs for the various size compression bags you are looking at on their sites. The compression sacks will reduce the volume about half from the stuff sack. I usually put my sleep clothes in there, too, along with some extra clothes, so a slightly bigger one than I'd need just for the bag. Besides they do compress down, if you're OK with the marginal extra weight ;).
Hope that helps.

Used an older version Lost Ranger for years. Fit fine into a 10L Granite Gear Event Compression Sack and could use a 8L Air Compressor with extra effort.

PS: For what it's worth, now I use a single 18L zippered GG Packstuffer to hold BA Horsethief, Exped Down 5s and mini pump, top and bottom long-johns, balaclava and gloves. With room for a bit more. bh

If there is a brick and mortar store near you that carries the Lost Ranger, you could go in and ask them if you could stuff it into various sized stuff sacks to get an idea. I got a "waterproof" compression sack for mine (same sleeping bag you have) and it really packs down small - about the size of a volleyball, if that helps. I don't remember what size my compression sack is, though.
I also store it in a large Ziploc clothes storage bag after compressing it, for an extra layer of protection (my dry clothes also go in the Ziploc.) I love the weight, warmth and compressibility of down, but I fear getting it wet, so I take extra precautions.\

I love my e-vent compression bags. I'm not sure what size you are looking for, but even if it's too big just put something else in with the bag to keep dry. You can't go wrong with these stuff sacks.

quote newguy: "Savage, do you use the Granite Gear eVent bags or the Sea to Summit eVent bags?
Website says Lost Ranger bag needs a stuff sack size 8in x 17.5in which seems to be the 14L/15L bags."
Yes, but it also says the compressed size is 6.5" x 8". The 8x17.5 is the size sack it will come with, which is not a compression sack. Those specs, btw, are for the regular size bag, not the long or long/wide if that is what you have.
In other words it should fit in a smaller compression sack, you'll just have to stuff it a little more by hand, then compress, but the larger one (14L) will compress down to that size, it will just hold a little more if you want to put some stuff in there.
I hope that makes a little more sense.
