Did the annual family trip this past Thursday - Sunday. The girls (adults now) and their friends aren't experts, but we all fished pretty hard. The worst BWCA fishing I've ever seen. We kept 2 small bass for tacos; luckily we had lots of rice. wacky worms, flukes, topwaters, crawlers, jigged for eyes, etc, etc, etc.
Lizz and Swamp entry point. Terrible.
We did have fun, though.

I went out by myself on Friday after work. I had a really hot but brief walleye bite. Ending up landing an 18", 19", 21", 26", and 28". Saturday evening my wife, daughter, and I went to Brule. We did ok. Ended up with 6 walleyes total. 18-22' seemed to be a good depth. Jigs and bobbers both worked although the 26" and 28" were caught using a bobber.

Did a loop the week of the 14th west out of poplar through long island then east through caribou, horseshoe up to poplar and back out. Didn't fish a lot but a leech on a slip bobber and top water were our main producers, mostly fishing for bass and pike on this trip. caught plenty of good fish from the 5 star island campsite on Banadad and the fishing around the island and shorelines was great on the west end of the lake.

Just got back from five day trip. Spent four days on lac la croix (tiger Bay Area) did pretty well quite a few smallies with good size to them. One being 19 inches. Walleye bite was pretty good as well. Stayed our last night on Agnes and got onto a honey hole and had one of my best days walleye fishing. We keep drifting along a weed bed with leeches and jigging 5 inch twister tails.

Sorry for hopping in on this discussion, I was wondering if any body has any info on Beatty lake, between loon and little loon. Is it worth hiking to, does it hold fish. I can't find any info anywhere. If someone could let me know that would be appreciated. Thank you

Did the American Pt loop to Seagull Aug 30-Sept 6th. Dealt with 2 cold fronts with dropping barometers and low pressure systems. Biggest fish were 18" walleye (jig & leech), 18" smallie (jig/leech), 20" Laker (blue/silver spoon), and a 36" pike (perch deep diving crank). Fishing was slow, but the fish were there in deep waters, 20'+ and hanging off the drop offs. Plenty of little ones to throw back.
Peace & Blessings

My son and I are making our first venture into the BWCA next weekend, base camping on Agnes, hoping to find some walleye. I'm more than receptive to any advice any of you are willing to give towards finding them. I'll take everything from general area ideas to exact GPS coordinates, and everything in between. Thanks a ton...can't wait to get up there!!

Hit all the moving water. Especially at dusk.
Below all the rapids on the Moose river. The small stream by the campsite on the west side of Agnes. The outflow from Agnes. The first set of rapids up the Dahlgren river. You could also troll the edge of the flats on the east side of the lake.
