Does anyone have a recommendation for a good place to camp the night before our entry into Snowbank? Not sure if there are any campsites that far down the road, or would we have to camp back closer to Ely? Thanks.

I think Fall Lake campground is the closest one to Snowbank

Canoe Country has both tent and trailer camping on Moose not far from Snowbank entry. I think around $15 but its been a few years. Showers, sauna, store, laundry. Closer than Fall Lake.

I believe that there are 3 canoe/boat in campsites that are on Snowbank Lake in Superior National Forest but outside the BWCA. A few years ago we entered at Snowbank and so we stopped at the forest office and they did clarify this. They also said that dispersed camping was allowed as well.

You might check the bunk house at Kawishiwi Lodge - just a little past Snowbank on the Fernberg.
