I will be there for sure on Sat-Sat, maybe Friday. Trying to convince my wife to join me, but most likely I will be alone. Probably will bring bbq ribs again, but it may be time to try something new. Have a new killer chili recipe...
Thanks again for organizing this, Kendra!

Basecamp Kid and I will be there (This is formerly MN Lindsey - but I've rebranded my blog, hence the new screen name)... Basecamp Dad is working that day.
The two of us per usual will be there for the day on Saturday! Looking forward to it.
Not sure quite yet what we'll be bringing. I'll update my post as I think more on it.

Kendra,
Hope some of you can post on that thread so they have good reading material when they get back. I did stats this morning and they are really moving despite the rain last evening!

Please don't be upset with me. But there was no wiggle room, I have to have surgery the 21st. Just found out today. If I wait I'd have to do biopsies, scans or whatever again to determine growth or spreading. So I'm going to be layed up that weekend if even out of the hospital.

I'll be there for part of Saturday, will you be there by noonish?"
Depends. My husband is pouring our garage and basement that day, and I had planned to watch part of it. They usually get started fairly early though.

quote Mocha: "are there any activities such as a gear swap or badminton, croquet, twister...?"
Every year is different depending on who shows up. Some people have brought gear to sell/or give away. There are no activities scheduled. There is a horseshoe pit. I could bring my horseshoes if I can find them. With people coming and going at different times, organized activities don't work so well.
Anyone is welcome to bring gear or yard games. All I ask is you remember to take your things home. If items are accidentally left behind I understand. Items will be take home, posted on the board as "lost/left" and if no one claims them they will be donated.

I think I can make my customary Saturday afternoon showing. Work til 2. Hurry out for dinner. Stay overnight. Hey, Lindsay I think you have some gadget abee left or let hour daughter use. Maybe a whistle? Flashlight? I forget. I will probably just grab some snack from the store. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

I was just thinking of this Pete! Unfortunately, we are in the process of moving and it is packed well away! I will get your work address on Wingnight and once we move into our new house and get unpacked I will mail it to you!
It's in my green purse - so I "know" where it is... I just don't have access to it right now ;(

Anyone in the western Minneapolis suburbs heading to wingnight would would be willing to bring some things out to wingnight? I can meet up or drop of tomorrow evening? I will be out of the country and bummed to miss the event.
09/17/2017 08:18PM
I'm afraid I can't make it to Wingnight this Fall. I will really miss seeing everyone and I was looking forward to meeting some of the new people that may be coming. Have fun and thanks to the committee for all their work reserving that great site and setting up. I will sure miss all the food too. I still think about how good Frenchy's ribs were last year. It would be great to see some photos and if jb_in_the_wild shows up give him my love.
I'm on a dream trip to celebrate my 60th birthday this year. 30 days camping in Yosemite Natiional Park.

Not sure on the duck family anymore..................... JV coach quit yesterday and the varsity coaches asked me to fill in and coach the girls the last 2 weeks of the season. Not positive how everything will play out, but I may be riding the bus w/ the team to Delano which means we won't be able to just jump over to Wing Night from the games in Delano like we had planned.

I was about to say we are back in as the JV game was cancelled. We are going to drive to watch the varsity game and then jump over to wingnight. The thought of kittens for the girls is more than enough to keep me away though.

Butthead was taking pictures so I assume he will post some when he gets home. Small crowd and steamy hot this year but it was still a great time. The eight kids that were there had a blast.
Thank you to the organizers for planning such a wonderful gathering. I had a great time catching up with those I've met before and meeting some new people. It's so cool meeting people in person for the first time like Cowdoc and Kiporby but it feels like you are catching up with old friends that you've know forever.

Another round of applause from us too to the organizers!
Basecamp Kid had a great time as usual. I'm sure she talked your ear off (I wonder where she got that from?)...
She couldn't stop talking about KevinL's ice cream, and now wants to know if we can make ice cream in the BWCA.
I loved getting a chance to talk to everyone as well! I agree with Ducks ~ it feels like you are catching up with old friends that you've known forever.
Great job!

Thank you all for coming!
This had to be a record for heat at a fall Wingnight! Even with everyone sweating, we had the traditional Wingnight camp fires! I'm just thankful the rain went around us!
It was nice to see a few new faces and many familiar faces too! Thank you Adam for continuing your work with the site. It's created a continuous stream of people to share our BWCA experiences with.
Thank you all for leaving a clean camp! I only have one item to report "left behind". It's a Nalgene bottle with a blue flip top. If it's yours let me know and I'll get it back to you.
See you next year!

I had a great time at my first Wing! I survived the Fri night initiation for newbies (dr. says the branding wounds should heal soon......well worth it!) Good to meet some people who have only been a moniker to me for so long. Fun bunch of people to hang out with in the great outdoors. The oppressive heat put a damper on activities but we managed and I think we may have pushed Mn. beer sales to an all time high for a late Sept. weekend. Thanks to all who make this event happen!
