I'm thinking of doing a spur of the moment trip to Trout-Chad-Buck-Pine lakes. If Since the Trout Lake entry is off of Vermillion, where should/could I park for free or low cost (if there's something neat like food and beer when I get out).

Thanks!

Moccasin Point is the nearest public access to Trout Lake, although there are others shown on the DNR map:

I believe there is a small fee to park at Moccasin Point.

Unless something changed over the summer-- there is no fee to park at moccasin point

Interesting...Seems to me there was a parking fee from the resort. Must have changed.

The resort property by purchased by the DNR in 2008 to provide a public water access:

Is this lot usually full? Or is parking a non issue?

Plenty of room- just pull up by dock and unload your stuff and go and park
