I just spotted a canoe for sale in our area. It is a 17' Kevlar 49 which appears to be in very, very, very good shape from the outside. No pictures of the inside. I am looking at possible age and value of this ride. They are asking $750.

I bought a '98 vintage Spirit II laid up in Tuf-Weave for 900 about 5 years ago. I think that's a very good price if the hull is in good shape.

quote fishonfishoff: " The ad says it is a SPIRIT 2 and weighs somewhere between 40-48#. It was made in 1993."Does the inside have ribs and a diamond shaped foam core bottom? If so, it's a UL kevlar and it will weigh about 42 lbs. If not, it's a flex core and it will weigh about 54 lbs.

There was no photos of the inside and it looks as if my planned trip through that area tomorrow has been canceled due to rain. This means someone else will be able to get on this deal. The outside of the canoe has decals which say Kevlar 49 and the owner said it was Kevlar, some I'm assuming it is Kevlar. The canoe would be great but for what I do in Ohio, I'm probably much better off with my Royalex and renting Kevlar on my trips up north.
