Will a Ranger station still issue me a permit I have reserved for pick up at that location the day after the date I have reserved? For example, a 9-8-17 permit. Can it be picked on 9-9-17 from them? Thanks.

Unfortunately, No. You can only pick up the permit the day before or day of entry.

I would cancel the permit as soon as possible and spend the $10 to change the date.

Like others said a 9/8 permit is only good on 9/8. You can pick it up the day of or a day early but it allows you to enter only on 9/8. If you need to enter a day later you'll need to call and cancel your permit for 9/8 and hope they have a permit available for 9/9. If your entry point doesn't have one available for 9/9 you'll either need to find a way to make 9/8 work or find a different entry point that still has a 9/9 permit available.

Well, MinnDOT saved the day by eliminating the railroad bridge detour on Hwy 61 in 1/2 day, so I should have no problem getting to the Tofte ranger station in time. Thanks for all of the input.

If that's the worry, you can also pick up at the FS office in Duluth or the Duluth Pack store in Duluth, assuming you are there during their hours and move your permit there.

And enter on the date of the permit, as required? Just confused if close to closing time for permit.
