I am getting ready to head up to the BWCA for my fall trip in less than 2 weeks. I had the freeze dried food and dry mixes shipped to my buddies house thinking he would bring the food and I would bring the community gear up on the plane. The food arrived at his house late yesterday afternoon and UPS left it on his porch. By the time he got home from work the damn squirrels in his yard had eaten or ruined $75.00 worth of our food. The hell with dried food on this trip, we're eating squirrel!

Damn tree rats.
Funny story.. I was deer hunting 1 time. Bow.
Got a little bored.
Took a 20 ad shot at a squirrel. Missed. Went to get my arrow later and there was 8 inches of squirrel tail laying there......
Sorry..
Another funny squirrel story.. Another time bow hunting I watched this squirrel run up armature 60 ft oak tree. Got up to the top and jumped limb to limb and missed and fell 60 feet. Bounced on the leaves..( squirrels don't miss).
Got up and ran back up that tree to the same spot and jumped again.. Damned if he didn't miss again...
I'm laughing my ass off.
Runs back up the tree a different route and goes i to a nest.....
The things you see in the woods...

I love squirrels, ahh, the memories. Growing up, squirrel hunting was my favorite hunting and September and October found me in the woods quite a bit. This time of the year I'd often go to my uncles cabin for a few days and hunt in the morning, fish after a few hours, borrow a few roasting ears from the neighbor's corn field in the evening and eat fried squirrel and corn! Those were good times! Of course, the Fox squirrels and the smaller gray squirrels are quite a bit larger than the little chipmunk-sized specimens up there.
But, even the squirrel family has their "Black sheep" like the ones that stole your food. Sometimes their delinquency catches up with them like this one here that my old friend, Bob, showed me a picture of:
