I had to get used to saying Aspen when I moved to Alaska after 50 years of saying Popple.

Here is an interesting article on Popple/Aspen clones and their differences to changing colors.
Even though this is in an Alaska article, Aspen trees genetics are nearly identical from Colorado-Mn-Alaska
Don't forget, Cottonwood trees are also in the populous/aspen family. Populous Deltoides.
