If anyone remembers the post about Joe and his Red Rock store a few months ago it came up that we decided to refinish our SR 18.5 instead of trade it for a 4 person. I got the call last week that it's finished and I've cleared next Sunday to make a trip up to Ely. Plan on bringing the family up, hitting Britton's for breakfast, picking up our canoe, Dorothy's Museum and Soudan Mine State Park. We will probably do some early X-mas shopping too, what better gift than canoe gear. I'm pretty excited to see how the canoe turned out, it was ready for a makeover.

Do you have a "before" picture? So you post it with an "after" picture?

Any reason for a road trip to Ely is good one! Hope it looks great!

I just thought of that the other day. A mental snapshot and an after photo is what I'll have. I'll ask Joe if he snapped one before he started.

No kidding! At least I'll be able to blame it on my wife as she's tasked with letting me know when we're headed for one of those rocks that lie just below the surface. I'm sure that won't get me far but I'll get over it.

Yup those guys take pride in their work. When I picked up my Expedition I said "we can just drag it" to the truck. He all but freaked out. We had to be very careful loading it as to not put even a teeny tiny scratch on it. If he could see it now ;-)
