Planning a solo trip first week in October. I usually trip this time of year so I know what I'm getting into. The last few years my entry points have been 23, 25, 30 and 38. So I'm looking for something different. With the little daylight I will have, I'll be moving every day sunrise to sunset. Eastside Westside doesn't matter. I'm on a tight budget so shuttling from one entry point to another is not an option.
1) scenery
2) wildlife
3) trying to keep portages under 200 rods
4) avoid too many big lakes (wind)
Any help would be appreciated.

Seems like EP 14 or 16 would fit the bill based on the ones you list.

I would suggest EP 14 and the loop just south of LLC. I did that loop this summer solo and loved it. You could make it bigger for your trip by adding some lakes to your loop, but I did a 45 miler down LIS River, Loon, Little Loon, Slim, Fat, Beartrack, Finger, Pocket, Ge-be-on-a-quet, Oyster, Hustler, Lynx, Shell, etc. It's a great loop because it's all small water, reasonable portages, great solitude and good fishing if that's your thing. I have a trip report with video out there in the Trip Report Forum if you'd like to read/watch. I did this loop in 5 days, but I moved leisurely and fished quite a bit so it could easily be done in less time. That's why I would suggest adding lakes to your loop.
