Haven’t seen any reviews of the Helinox Chair Zero so thought I’d post my initial thoughts.

First of all this is coming from a guy who has never brought a chair on a trip and think they are not a necessity but none the less I am always looking for items to lighten my pocket book apparently and enhance the enjoyment of my trips. I have not used this on an extended trip just for a few hours.

Pros:
Weight just over a pound— -the only reason I would consider bringing a chair. It is 42% lighter than the chair one and chair one knockoffs.
Just like all Helinox chairs easy to set up
Compact not much bigger than a nalgene see pic
Seems very durable, Helinox is known for quality well constructed products
Compared to the Chair one you sit a little more upright
Feels most sturdy if you let your legs relax out in front of you and lean back, but I was able to lean forward and support myself while cooking on the stove. So I thought it was comfortable.

Cons:
Price $119 crazy...I got mine on sale just shy of $90...still crazy. But we are a family of 4 so saving 4 pounds—if I get more eventually— is like saving the weight of a small tent.
Size: I am 5’9” medium build. I had no issues but a wider person may feel cramped.
Height: once again I had no issues but it is 4 inches closer to the ground than the chair one. I actually liked that as my stove and so cooking was close to the ground, but a taller person or someone that has trouble getting up from lower seats would not like this chair.
To save weight it is of lighter construction than the chair one. The chair zero tops out at 265 lbs. while the chair one is over 300. No issue for me but good to know.

I own the zero, the original, the swivel and the table. Normally only the zero comes with unless we are base camping. For car camping all are great.

I'm 6'2" and love the Sunset model. Can lean back with plenty of support. At $150 the kids know that is "DADS" chair.

It looks like a really nice chair but it is 2.5 lbs more...I’d have to get one for my wife too so that’s 5 pounds more or like packing a whole extra tent so not even going there yet :) I am sure I’d like it better-no doubt!

Depends...I haven’t used it on an extended trip yet so reserving final judgement. If you basecamp I think not, I’d bring the Helinox Sunset. If you don’t use chairs then no. If you want a chair, travel a lot and want to stay light weight then it seems like a good option. That is where I am at right now, a 2 pound chair is too heavy for me...but I am not your average camper. I treat my gear like a lightweight hiker and shave ounces and pounds off of every piece of gear. So I think it depends on what you want.
