In the Brainerd-Mille lac area this weekend should be the peak. Lot of colors today. Get out it won't last long. Maybe we will even see the sun?

Ben, as a tree aficionado, I actually prefer the colors on overcast days, but I'll take them on any day.

I've planted trees to extend my fall, with species that won't start to change until November. I'm a fall hog.

If we actually see the sun again it is going to be awesome. Just went for a short ride now,yes in the rain and leaves are gorgeous.

Was up in Two Harbors up to Split Rock over the weekend. The colors weren't even worth taking the camera out.

I think along the north shore you have to get over the hill for real good colors.

yeah, that is true, we were up a ways off of Homestead road. They had a big wind last week, and a lot of the red/orange maples dropped their leaves.

I hate that when the leaves fall just when it is getting nice.

It's very colorful now. This is a great time to come up. Watching the sun set was real nice tonight after all that rain. I think it was rain and wind combo that knocked a lot of leaves down. Just walked down to the lake at 11:30 pm. The moon is quite bright. Just beautiful out there.

I agree on the overcast day thing. I just don't like the torrential rains we've been having. I don't remember having this strong of a wet pattern. With my newly added nine twelve pitch roof I will have trouble establishing a yard if this keeps up.

the wife and I were just up in the BW last week for a 9 day trip in the LIS area. Depending on the lake we were on, I'd say colors were 10% (near the river and loon lake) to 30% (Gebe). The freakishly warm weather likely had something to do with that...80 degrees some days - WTH!
