Heading up to a buddies cabin in the far north eastern arm of saganaga near the portage to northern lights this weekend (we wont be going to NL to fish) and was wondering if anyone had any tips to put some walleye or lakers in the boat?
I will have my fishing boat with motor and electronics so I will be mobile and conditions won't be too big of an issue.
I normally fish mille lacs which is the exact opposite of sag so I am having a hard time putting together a game plan. at this point on mille lacs when you could fish it I would be pulling cranks in shallow water at night and pitching jigs on rock reefs. I will also be bringing up my leadcore gear hoping to find some lakers as well (I am very inexperienced with laker fishing so any opinion on that would be helpful as well).
what would your tactics be at this point in the season on sag because as I see it Sag is a very deep lake with fast breaks so I am just a little hesitant to think I could do exactly what I do on mille lacs and still produce since they are so different.
