To the east of the portage onto Rose from Duncan is a log sticking straight out of the water. It is about 5 inches round and right now is about a foot and a half out of the water. Anyone know what it is used for?

I just figured that one end is heavier then the other.

Most likely part of dock at one time. Love Rose lake.

Some places it makes sense it could have been a dock or something. But they were typically much bigger material. Some are logs left from logging days. I'm guessing many are trees died and fell in the water. Once all water logged they end up somewhere like that.

OT: Crater Lake has had a log/stump floating vertically in it for at least 100 years, they call it the old man of the lake.
