Recently picked up an Old town 12 ft. Royalex pack canoe. I realize this isnt the ideal solo tripper but it was too good of a deal to pass up.

I am looking for a padded portage yoke for old town solo pack canoe. I am looking for places to buy one. The Old Town site does not have padded yokes.

They are a sheltered workshop that seems to supply a large part of the canoe indusry

I made one using Wenonah's basic yoke--got solo clamp hardware from hardware store Basic yoke

On a recommendation from SUNCATCHER a few years ago, I bought a custom clamp-on portage yoke from Hidden River Yoke Shop West Salem, WI. (608) 786-4660. The owner of this small company took the measurements of my solo Bell Magic and made a nice clamp on yoke.




You add the pads you to the yoke. I added some Bourquin pads. I am partial to Bourquin portage pads made in Ely, MN.

Superior is another portage pad brand that is also top quality.
