Northern Ontario Moose vs. Wolf

Interesting, but am I wrong to think this lone wolf is completely desperate?

That was one persistent wolf. Outcome likely very different with 2 or more.

Looks like the drone scared the wolf off at the end of the video. I don’t think the wolf was desperate, he was just being a wolf.

He could have been ousted from a pack by the alpha male. Harder to hunt on your own.

The wolf is at a disadvantage when in the water. I'm surprised he wasn't seriously injured.

WOW! Nail biter! There were two wolves. At the end, the drone follows the wolf to the RR tracks and there are two of them.

Thanks for sharing!

Appears the Moose knows that, in that 3-4ft deep area the moose can still stand, but the wolf is unable.

It wouldn't be a lone wolf attack. The job of the second wolf was to stay on shore so the moose couldn't exit the lake. If you watch close, the primary wolf was keeping track of where the second wolf was on shore and the moose knew of the second wolf as well so it stayed in the water. I watched a pack of four do this with a big buck years ago. They wore the buck down til it was almost drowned, then when the buck finally came to shore it was too weak to fight for its life. In this case, if the water had been deeper the moose would have died.
