Made this out of plastic gutter and cap.
Watching a wAlleye show the other day and noticed the pros struggling to keep the fish still on their metal 2inch wide tape measure....
With this just drop in the slot and wala.... I've only have mine marked in 8 15 and 20 inches.just thought I'd pass it along.
Light easy and inexpensive

I made one nearly identical for wader fishing. Works okay but need to rig up a way for it to float or it becomes another thing tied to you and hanging in the way.

Works great in a boat or canoe though

I carry a fifteen inch one by three in the boat, if it's longer than the board it's legal and goes in the box if it's twice as long as the board it swims again.

I don’t think that would work in Minnesota or other states with slot limits statewide and lake specific slots.

15 -20 is my slot on the Mississippi river in Illinois. This was made basically to carry down to the dam for shore fishing ..tough to measure on all the uneven rocks...
MY. Had one that measured out farther but lost in in the wind when I didn't secure in in the boat traveling down the road.....

I just put notches on my rod. 16 through 20 inches for smallmouth.
