Even though by most of your standards, we're still very green, and should be off exploring new territory... I long to go back to Mudro!

We've only been on 7 trips (Mudro, Mudro (daytrip), LIS N, Lizz/Swamp, Snowbank (Winter), Clearwater (Winter) and Crab), my favorite still has been Mudro.

Can't wait for next May to head down Picket Creek once again!

What is your go-to-favorite EP?

Didn't you go to Lynx a couple of years ago? Looking at that as a base camp option next August. Read your trip report. Any additional comments on that area would be welcome.

Mudro was my first trip. I’ve been in love with Ely and the BWCA ever since. So I gotta say Mudro as well.

Northeast campsite on Frost.

I always make other plans, but then I just go there and crash.

My reasons for going to the BWCA has changed a few times over the years. I first wanted adventure, then see new areas, being outdoors, now it’s fishing. So I go where we limit out daily with Walleye, Pike and Bass. #25 entry point fits the bill.

I think at this point, I've done more trips through EP #37, Kawishiwi Lake, than others, but there are many options there. Have also done a couple through Poplar Lake and Round Lake, as well as Cross Bay. On Ely side Mudro was nice, Little Indian Sioux North better.

I think that the Brant Lake EP out of Round Lake is my favorite BWCA, even though the vast majority of my canoe trips are in Quetico.

Great route. It is my favorite in the winter. Many times we would do the loop and come back thru Tuscarora and back to Round.
been a couple of years now and have to get back and see how the forest regrowth is taking place.

Really there is so many great areas and each has its little thing.

Mine is Agnes in the Q....so many options, heading east, north, over into the small lakes between it and Khahs, or up into Kawnipi. Oddly enough, I don't actually like Agnes itself; it's just a road to get where I'm going, or a place to stay while I'm out exploring from camp. Just my .02 .

Mudro is a nice place to go but always been just a way in to other places. But i agree with LIS is a much better entry.
