I bought a fiberglass canoe this season. I don't have a spot to store it inside, is it best to cover it with a tarp or something prior to the cold northern Minnesota winters? Or will it be find with snow piling up on it?

I suggest covering it with an opaque tarp to prevent exposure to UV light that can damage the epoxy. However, I think it would be best if you can find a place indoors and away from sunshine. Can you hang it from the ceiling of your garage?

The cold won't hurt it.
As suggested, cover it to inhibit UV exposure and do NOT! let snow accumulate on it. The extreme weight can mis-shape the hull.

So to ask... Is fiberglass / Kevlar canoes any more suceptible to damage in anyway in extreme cold? I always worried about my plastic canoes but never a problem.

I hang my Kevlar in my garage. Why take chances?
