Yep, I’m planning on being there on Saturday. I’ll be wearing a bow tie because I’ll be heading to a wedding that night, so leaving from the Expo directly to the wedding.

quote Jocobo81: "Anyone planning to attend the Expo this year? I’ll be there, planning to attend the Alaska seminar and meet the presenter (a forum member).
I’d love to meet other fellow BWCA fans!"
I’m looking forward to meeting you, Jacob, along with others who will be at the Fall Expo. It’s always a good time to meet like-minded folks who love adventure travel.
The Alaska Highway has been in my sights for a few years now, and last summer I had the opportunity to make the drive on the 75th Anniversary of it’s construction. With the exception of a handful of towns, it is all wilderness travel with frequent wildlife sightings. I traveled over 7000 miles round trip as we visited Denali and Valdez, in addition to the rustic towns of Tok, Glennallen, and Talkeetna.
As always, the Fall Expo is a FREE event. Lots of good presentations and exhibits.
The epic, ultimate road trip to the Last Frontier, “Traveling the Alaska Highway “ will be presented this Saturday, November 18, at 4:45 pm in Hanson Hall, room 104. I look forward to seeing you then.

One big change that MM is making is that exhibits will be in the Humphrey building where it is warm and dry, and that the parking lot behind the store is available for parking at $6. Good move!

Good move, indeed. Always had to spend some of your time wandering the exhibit watching your footing in that lot! :-)

And will both demos be the same format, or will you be teaching an advanced one on Sunday? Just want to know for planning. Thanks.

quote DanCooke: "Similar format both demos. The folks attending can ask questions and contribute tips, Each one is a bit different. "
Dan I've got a question only you could help answer, I'm about to order my second ccs tarp, I usually just get em off your website because vendors have mostly white and green. Anyways, I was hoping you could show a pic of the Saffron color of the 1.1oz in contrast to the golden yellow in 1.9oz? I have the yellow, it's awesome. I think I'd like the Saffron color more if it's what I think is it.

Met Zulu after my presentation. Missed jacobo81 and Highndry. Oops. Had a great turnout. Moving everything inside was a great move. Now to get Dan’s tarp demo inside. That was a bitter cold wind.

It was great meeting old_salt and attending his presentation on driving the Alaska Highway. It was entertaining and informative.
I enjoyed a few other presentations and got some information and free stuff from the vendors like pencils and carabiners.
I knew from attending Dan’s past Tarp Demos outside on the grassy knoll that the wind would be brutal so I stayed inside at the dog sledding presentation.

Yes, Dan's tarp presentation was both enlightening and captivating but, that wind drove me off the grassy knoll before he finished. I did last long enough to learn, I need to add a CSC tarp to my pack before next spring.

Couldn’t take standing on my head anymore :)
