I've got a black 10' x 16" X 1/4" toboggan blank left over from my own sled build two years ago. I bought a full sheet of Tivar Eco (recycled) UHMW-PE and had it ripped into three 16 inch (or just a hair under) pieces, sold one, built one, and had one left over. The sheet cost was $225, so I'd like to get the cost of $75 back. My sled turned out great, so if no one's up for building from a blank I might just make another one.

Kiporby - I live in Minneapolis, and will also expect to be in Duluth in the next couple weeks. I am happy to look into it more but suspect shipping will be cost prohibitive - these things are still pretty big when rolled up. Any chance you are coming this way, or know anyone heading that way?

Kiporby, I'm sorry but I am not finding any shipping options that look reasonable for something this size and weight. I keep seeing something like $50-60 for a 2x2 box at 6-8 lbs. I think we both better be looking for some other options.

I will be in the Rochester area Dec 21 and 22, but will be visiting a friend in Minneapolis then also. Possible to have my friend pick it up from you before hand? He works and lives in the cities. Otherwise, I could meet you on the 22.

That works for me. I'll be happy to get it to him in advance - I've been out of town a lot lately due to family illness so arranging him to get it in advance would be best. You can pay me after you pick it up if you like. Why don't you shoot me an email with how best to connect with your friend. I'm very near downtown but can drop it or meet somewhere In between. I currently have it stored flat but can get it to him rolled if you prefer. Let me know.

Sent you an email back. Since Kiporby inquired first I should try to get it to him. I'll look for the name of the supplier in Duluth, and welcome to the site!

Sharing the supplier name would be great so we could maybe split the cost of a whole sheet between a few of us.

I got mine from Seelye Plastics. They are all over, with one in Duluth and one in Bloomington and other places. I called a few places finding prices and availability did vary. I found a cheaper sheet somewhere, but they were going to charge me both a set up fee and per cut fee making the total much more than Seelye.
