What is on your Christmas list this year for canoeing, camping and fishing gear?

Well for me I wanted a new tent but got one on Black Friday. I also would like a very lightweight cot (not sure if something like that even exists). Otherwise I’m all set for next year

I'd like to get my locking rear differential fixed, but I'm afraid to take it to the dealer.

“Navionics +”chip to go into my Lowrance depth finder. A mora knife full tang in carbon steel.

I’m getting my dad a new bent shaft paddle, he’s gonna love that! For me, I was hoping for a pair of those Piragis “Canoe Pants”. I’ve worn through most of mine in the knees and butt, so I’m hoping for a replacement. (Pretty sure the wife is on top of it). ????

Not exactly canoeing, camping or fishing, but I guess you got to get there somehow :)

Therma-Rest makes an ultra light cot that weighs in at 2 lb 10 oz for a regular and 3 pounds for a large. Backcountry.com has them for 160 bucks.

Pricey, but compact, sturdy and lightweight. Great option for those who find a mattress pad inadequate.

Nothing big - a new map case or compression stuff sack, tent stakes, guy line cordage, socks.

Do you take an electric smoker camping with you? Car camping maybe? Or maybe this is just on your general list and not your camping list?

Maybe Santa can bring you a shed to store your rods in? :) I have a whole room dedicated to fishing, camping and canoeing stuff.

I've been like this all my life but it has probably become more pronounced in my old age. That is, if I really want something I just buy it. That frustrates my wife because she has a hard time finding something for me that she knows I want.
I get my pleasure in finding something for my wife that I know she covets but is too frugal to buy for herself. In Norway, she bought a thin, less expensive sweater for herself because she felt guilty paying more. Dale's of Norway sweaters can run into the several hundreds of dollars but she had wanted a Dale's and so she bought a lesser one.

So, that's what she's getting....a fancy, plush, overpriced Dale's of Norway sweater, two-toned with reindeer on it.

Lucky lass. Fine hubby.

I can always use more titanium tent stakes - I move the same ones around depending on which tent I take and that, as you can guess, leaves room for error and means I have to check each tent before I leave. Would love to have enough to put in each tent bag and not have to "share".

Kinda would like to find a deal and try a down sleeping bag... something lighter than the 1994 albatross I love and schlep today.

Maybe a new rain jacket if something good comes along.

Otherwise, I am pretty much set. New stuff is fun to look at and I pick up a fair share, but so grateful to own all the basics.

For others:

I'm keeping my eye out for my son's first canoe - which I need by June HS graduation.

Also would love to get my oldest a decent paddle she can call her own to go with her HS grad canoe from this past summer.

Careful to be clear, or they might give you an e-cigerette. Haha.

I'm looking for a new sleeping bag.

Awww - Housty. You're so nice. Yes, I hope NCTRY is feeling better too!

Dare I say I think I have everything I want?
I went crazy the first 2.5 years buying gear to catch up to Y'all... and with a monthly Cairn subscription, I'm geared up!

I do have my eye on a lovely women's Carhartt vest though, and I had been paddling in a waterski life jacket. When we moved I gave it away to some friends who live on a lake, and do a lot of tubing... so I need/want a nice fishing/comfortable life jacket.

Pack it up!

Seems odd to me to even think it, but at the moment there's not a thing I want or need related to camping/tripping - not even solely as an upgrade.
