Don't you hate it when you post a jokey, wise-guy comment in a thread and the serious discussion continues without missing a beat? Sorry if I have posted badly on your thread this year. I'll work to be better.

What are you talking about? This is a serious website and only serious comments are tolerated... humor, good or bad, is OT. ;>)

Hmm...can't really relate to you on that, as I have never, to my recollection, ever posted a wise-ass comment on this or any other canoeing- or non- canoeing-related message board.

No, would/does not hurt my feelings, and don't bother.

I would say 75% of my posts on here are not meant to be taken seriously. Actually 75% of everything I say in life probably shouldn't be taken seriously. I know it drives my wife nuts but I just tell her its better to be a smart ass than a dumb ass.

Cool, I can't wait to read your better wise a$$ comments. I, too, can't resist stirring the pot a bit.

Don't call me shirley....
I'm yogi.

12/18/2017 11:48AM
I resemble that remark. Surely you gest.
If your ass is wise, I'll trade you for my brain. Although that might look funny in a turtleneck.

I'm not jesting and don't call me Shirley.

I didn't call you Shirley. I'll call Shirley if you give me her number though.

Don't you just hate it when you have to scrape a squashed unlighted bicyclist off your windshield at midnight?
(Oops - wrong thread. Sorry) :)

What's the last thing that goes through a bug's mind when it hits the windshield.........it's butt :)

12/18/2017 01:21PM
Why do bugs get to have all the fun?

I don't think I've ever met anyone named Shirley, or surely for that matter. I have run into some solid Stephanies along the way however.

12/18/2017 02:05PM
Funny stuff! We usually don't get these types of things until WAY further into the hard water season. ;)

12/18/2017 02:56PM
Have you ever been stung by a dead bee?

12/18/2017 03:12PM
I can't say I have, but I'm convinced I've been dead by a stung bee before.

This thread reminds me of the old “Laugh In” show. One joke worse than the last one. Keep it up I’m still reading:)

My first mother-in-law was Shirley. Not funny, never was, never will be!

12/18/2017 06:37PM
That doesn't sound funny anymore. I'll take your word for it. Any chance she has a sister named Fanny?

12/18/2017 06:48PM
I will cease and desist after one final thought - I'm sure Confucious said this ten thousand years ago:

He who has wise ass
Sits on his head

Carry on lads. Cheers, scat

12/18/2017 06:55PM
I didn't expect this thread to head in this direction...

I knew a girl named Fanny in college. And she Shirley was cute! But on the other hand, I have five fingers.

You crack me up scat.
But I think Shirley's sister's name was Laverne.
They worked in a brewery together in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Verrrrrrrrry interesting... but schtupid!

(Might need to be of a certain age...)

Yeah the guy with the cheesy looking German helmet, it was called Laugh In wasn't it. Arte.... Johnson? Never quite got that. Same time period would be Creature Features and the comedy shows with Rich Little, Forest Brooks and that whole gang. I have two little brothers and we used to plan our Saturday night snacks ahead of time to watch those shows.
I met an interesting person named Sherry today. Ive never met a girl who seemed so interested in what I have to say, and I try not to say too much. It's just the way she looked at me, it was a bit unusual. Not in a bad way, at all, really. Right into my eyes. Being a wise ass would seem redundant, or senseless with a person such as this. I won't call her Shirley, her name is Shelly, or maybe Shelley, I'll nail that down next time I see her. So, I still need to meet a Shirley. But, I'm getting closer maybe.

Like they always say, nothing worse than a wise ass barn owl.

And of course also well known is:
A wise ass in the hand is worth two in the bush.

lol, i know what u r talking about, life doe's stay too serious. it's too short to not make a joke.

12/24/2017 07:57PM
I've been pondering in semi deep thought for some time again about what Confucious might have said about the wise ass. I can only speculate of course, my first thought already shared was:

He who has wise ass
Sits on head

Thinking conversely, yin with the yang thang, or somethang:

He who has wise ass
Has sh++ for brains

But, that doesn't work for me so much. Let's try:

He who has wise ass
Will one day guide the world
With a full frickin heart
And peace will reign over all

Yeah! That's what I'm talkin about!
