Hello, I just joined and thought I would introduce myself before posting something for sale. This site has been a wealth of information for my wife and I on our trip planning. We bought a Royalex Sundowner 17' two years ago and have been increasing our time on the water. We paddle with our chocolate lab and soon-to-be first born this spring. The St. Croix is our "home" paddle.

A quick thanks to anyone who has provided insight to new visitors to the BWCA. Everything from footwear preference (depends on the day) to where to go and where to stay. We are active and hike on bad paddle weather days. We have also paddled in the nearby Superior National Forest. At the present moment I am planning a trip out West to snowboard and I thought I should try and sell a new paddle I have since It will be on the shelf for a while now (it's my 2nd paddle). Instead of posting a for sale as my first message, I thought this would be proper.

And I like to snowboard, and ski. A lot. I have been snowboarding every month of the year. "If you don't do it this year, you'll be one more year older when you do" -Warren Miller.

Welcome. The St. Croix is home water to myself and some other members here. Perhaps we will meet up there.

Welcome to BWCA.com, Snowboarder. We have a great group of canoeing enthusiasts here and I think you'll have some fun.

Btw, your Warren Miller quote is excellent. It would make a great signature line for your posts.

WELCOME! Makes me a bit envious of the days when I used to ski, just not much of that down here and we don't travel in winter since we moved to the farm in the '90's.

Welcome! Where do you go for snowboarding out west? Big Sky, MT? Colorado resorts?

Welcome as well. If you are in the area, there a wingnites during the winter around the Twin Cities and further afield (such as Rockford, IL), a big wingnite campout in the Minneapolis area every fall (September-ish) and Canoecopia (Madison, WI) coming up soon in March. These are all good venues for rubbing elbows with a seasoned group of paddlers who are a wealth of information and a very congenial group. There are also flying moose stickers and things to purchase for a few bucks to festoon your new ride with. Enjoy!

Thanks for the warm greetings everyone!

I prefer Bridger over Big Sky. In CO, I like Winter Park because of how close it is. Cheaper too (daily lift tickets are >$100 at many places). But our second home is in Mammoth Lakes, CA. We spent a year out there once we got married. I've been many places between and I'll make that 2 day drive any chance she lets me! We had 2 weeks last year and this year I am going to AZ of all places for a weekend. Free lodging and haven't snowboarded in AZ yet!

CO, MT, CA, OR, & WA all have snow year round. Conditions have been changing but the snow is still out there year round if you know where to find it.

I knew I had the right girl for me when she agreed to go snowboarding on our honeymoon!

What’s the paddle you're wanting to sell?

Welcome. Mammoth Lakes is a nice area. I did some scouting of Red’s Meadows last October for a future JMT attempt. I also visited the Devil’s Postpile and spent a month in Bishop and Lone Pine. The Minarets reminded me of the dorsal fin on a Walleye. Lots of smoke last fall.
The people on this site are great. We look forward to your future posts.
