1 more app for day use motor moose, newfound, sucker, also 4 choices.
1 more app for day use motor moose basswood via prairie portage.

We'll see how many I get... got shut out last year...

I'm all for doing away with the lottery.....

We had some unexpected expenses come up and I decided not to enter the lottery. Let us know how you do yogi! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that I can get onto Basswood last minute at some point this summer. I'm lucky to be able to take off work with little notice, so maybe it will work out.

I received 2 of 4 possible permits. In the lottery.
A day use motor for the moose chain and a day use to get up into Basswood,.NO overnight motor into Basswood. That one has eluded me for 8 years....
Bring on the new system.

That’s too bad about not getting any overnights.

For next year the permits may go in seconds like the campsites in Yosemite. 600 campsites for the whole month go in seconds. If this is the case there are some ways to increase your odds and they are explained on some websites including gov. It is recommended that besides you about 4 people with high speed connections all go after permits at exactly the second the lottery opens. Yogi would be listed as alternate leader on the 4 “tripmates”s permits “in case they couldn’t go.” Good luck. It’s a hassle but it’s how it is.

Dang. Sorry, yogi.

I feel the same way about the (long past) change to the MN State Parks camping reservations system. Sites may be reserved a full year in advance... and so the best ones are gone... a full year in advance. The way the calendar lines up from year to year, that means that if you want the same week each year, you are lurking online to reserve your site for next year in the morning of the day before you head out on this year's upcoming trip. And, if somebody reserved your coveted spot for a day or so ahead of you but for multiple days in a row, you were out anyway. Back when it was set for reserving only 3 months in advance, it was somewhat the same story, but at least fewer people were alert to the fact that a June trip's site was available for reservation in March...
