Have you ever found a lure up in Quetico or the BWCA and decided to use it on your trip? Did it work for you? One time I was hanging a tarp on an island up in Quetico and right where I was going to tie off the rope hung a gold J9 jointed Rapala. I almost stuck my hand right on it. Why it was hanging where it was hanging was beyond me. So naturally I put into the box and later tied it on. Turned out to catch the most walleye on the trip. I always have two in the box now for each trip.

I found a Rapala size 18 on shore tangled up in some branches. It was pretty beat up with the finish. I sprayed some clear coat on it and put new hooks on it. Part of my pike arsenal now.

Did you use it right after you found it or did you have to take it home for repairs first before you used the lure? That's a big lure.

The hooks were all rusty, fixed it up at home. I really like the size of this lure. It is plump and has two treble hooks, the newer ones have three trebles and are thinner.

I have found my old, lost lures a couple times. I know they were mine because few fishers use F13 orange Rapalas. The hooks were gone and they were faded, so I simply took them home and trashed them.

i found this no name lure in a log pile in the SAK with a very strong/long steel leader attached to it(i wondered what kind of fish snapped him off ?) , never have used it just have it on my modest collection shelf. on one trip to the SAK a friend of mine found a shandling lure up on shore and said a lure you find is the best one to use because a fish has hit it before ... so he goes and ties it on and first cast another fish took it way from him , so he was right LOL .

Not up north but as a kid we were wasting time down by the river. Found some line someone dumped, a jig head, and a twister all in different spots. Put it all together and tossed in by hand from a rock on shore. 5 seconds later the line is moving sideways and a small northern had it. We all laughed and threw it back and threw our rig in the trash as the hook was pretty rusty.
