SKOL

This is how we SKOL

Philly isn’t going to just let us win though, they have a huge chip on their shoulder. It will be the best defensive and O-line we will face all year. Should be another nerve wracking game. I just can’t believe we are in the championship game...if you would of told me that after Bradford and Cook got hurt I would of laughed at ya!

Of course I'm biased but, to echo timatkins sentiments ......

Essentially (at the start of the year) A 3rd string QB now starting. A 2nd string running back. An almost totally revamped (unproven) offensive line. A walk on leading receiver......the list goes on.

I'm not gonna say it won't be heartbreaking if they lose but, I'm also of the opinion that they have already dramatically exceeded virtually all realistic expectations, so the emotional investment isn't as great as it was in 09, 98 etc.

Skol Vikings !!!

I would love the Vikings to beat the Pats on their home field.

You're already 0-50 with the Pats win over the Jags.

Not looking good for the Vikes as of halftime.

The last time a SB team had home field advantage was the only SB I was fortunate to attend, Joe Montana against Dan Marino. Not really home field since it was Stanford U but it was in San Francisco Bay area.

Absent a miracle of miracles, with 13 minutes left in the 4th it looks like the SB will be the Patriots vs. the Eagles.

Take heart Minnesota, the Vikes had a great year.

Go Eagles!

It's easier to watch them lose like this in this round than in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, and for me, it is also easier to see them get smoked like this rather than go down like they did in 98.

Here's to Philly; hope they crush the Pats.

I'd rather see the Vikes take a butt kicking than lose like the Saints did last weekend!! No last second shocks. Just an, "Oh well, time to move on" at the half! :)

What a disappointing way to end such a surprisingly good season. It was a lot of fun until the end...I guess that’s how all the playoff teams will feel this year except for one :)

So sad. I wanted the Vikings to play the Pats. How disappointing they don't get to play in the Superbowl in their home town.
Prediction with no basis: Band B will eat the remaining bird. I heard that in the playoffs no Bird named NFL team had ever lost at home
And MN is not home to the Eagles.

The good news is that more money from out of state will funnel into the State of Minnesota from Eagles fans versus a hometown opponent.

We still finished better than the Packers.

Pitchers and catchers report soon.

I think I can safely say with no chance of provocation whatsoever that if the Cowboys are America's Team, then the Patriots are God's team and we should all worship them accordingly. Am I right or am I right?

Let's talk next year.....who do you guys want for your quarterback? All 3 are free agents I believe? .....and there's a 4th, rookie, who is under contract (name escapes me) Who you gonna spend the money on?

I'm waiting for a class-action lawsuit to be filed by Vikings fans against the Purple for "cruel and unusual punishment" of their fan base. Having lived in MN for the past 22 years, I've never seen a team rip out their fan's hearts in so many different ways. The drama and trauma that comes with every epic failure is rather fascinating and entertaining. Admittedly, I'm a Bears fan, so I just know my team will suck virtually every season and there's no reason to get my hopes up :^)

Too soon :)

I have no idea, I would guess the team knows how good Bradford knee really is or isn’t—-on the outside looking in it looks like a chronic problem, Teddy? His knee is still recovering who knows how good he will be, he hasn’t proved himself yet was just starting to emerge before his major injury, then Keenum had a great year, I think he is a good QB but will never be great like a Brady or Rodgers—they may need to put the franchise tag on him to keep him, but as much as I like him he isn’t worth franchise money.

A lot depends on what kind of contract each wants. The Vikings better not pay big money on one of them...the franchise tag would put one at 23 million I think? That money would be better spent on an O-line which did better this year but still wasn’t that good.

$23 Million for 1 year under the franchise tag might end up being the smart thing to do for Keenum. He'll probably get offers for multiple years in the $20 million range. I'd rather pay him $23 million for one year and see how things go. You'd pay a little more this year but call it an insurance policy. If he regresses then you dump him in the off season and you haven't limited yourself financially long term. If he continues his solid play then sign him to an extension. If you sign him to an extension next year I'm guessing he won't command much more per year than he would if you signed him this year. If all goes well and you franchise him and then sign him to an extension next year you're probably only out an extra $3 million but you've protected yourself a little by giving him one more year to prove himself before committing to him long term.

I doubt paying him $23 million for one year will significantly impact the ability to participate in free agency. Bradford and his $18 million will be off your books and according to projections the Vikings are in good position with available cap space for 2018.

Good points nofish, I heard Keenum get interviewed yesterday, he seems to really like it in Minnesota... he likes the schools, neighbors, his teammates, the fans..especially after how his family was treated by Philly fans...I wonder if they just make him a decent offer they could get him for a lot less than the franchise but they would need a longer deal. They could lock him in and surround him with better players...specifically an O-line...that would help Delvin too.

I heard parts of the interview as well. I think its possible he gives the Vikings a bit of a discount and if he does I think they'd probably have to sign him to a multi year deal. I think its in his best interest to take less money and stay in an organization that he knows and that knows him and how to use him. How many times have we seen a QB show some potential and then cash in big with another team during free agency only to flame out after the transition to another team? Success at the QB spot can be as much about the situation/team as it is about talent, hopefully he realizes that.

Case seems like a great guy with the right perspective and attitude so he's an easy guy to cheer for. For that alone I'd like him to stick around as long as he doesn't demand a crazy price.
