Just got my McKenzie map #9 and it is not showing a portage between Carp & Crawford Lakes in Quetico. A different route planning website shows an 18 rod portage #5653....and some BWCA 2008-2009 posts mentions a portage. Just curious if anyone has passed thru this way in the last couple of years and can confirm whether or not there is still a portage OR if possibly there is a small navigable stream (can’t tell for sure on map). Thanks.

Hello fellow Hoosier. There is a small very easy portage to get to Crawford from Carp. We were there last in 2016, and it was still accessible. Unfortunately it looked like the beaver dam was damaged and was not being repaired. The initial paddle was very shallow. I hope it is still accessible when we go in June. Good luck.
