I think I'm taking a person or two extra this year....I have no experience with this brand (Osage River) ....what do you think of this bundled deal? Two zero degree bags and 4 person tent, only $89 bucks,,,,is this decent stuff or do you get what you pay for? (Hope this link works)

If it's too good to believe then it probably isn't true. In this case I tend to agree with that. Just the zero degree bags alone I'm skeptical of and I bet you would lucky to be comfortable in at 30° let alone 0 degrees.
Never heard of the company either.

That is not a serious tent for camping. A real tent will have a rain fly completely covering the tent. Also, those most certainly do not look like 0 degree bags, but then you wouldn't want 0 degree bags for summer camping anyway. I would stay clear of this deal and stick with proven/recommended manufacturers. This is one of those time where if it looks to good to be true, it is.
Endeavor to persevere.

Show those you bring along that you care about their comfort and saftey. Buy real gear or use the $89 toward renting real gear as needed.

Go look at them. High price is not always the key to good equipment, but ,,,,
They sell these thru walmart, maybe you can touch one there. I bet they are very heavy. The walmart ad says 2.95lb! That has to be wrong for a 4 person tent! The pic shows a very short rainfly, which is not ideal since you may wake up with wet tent sides. The bottom of the tent looks bathtub type, and looks to be made of heavy tarp material. No pics of inside.
I would consider this a cheap car camping tent. Heavy, and ok for camping where you could seek other shelter if needed.
Go look at one. Let us know if you found the deal of the year! Osage river is a known lower cost Walmart, ebay, and jc penny brand.

Would you survive a trip with this gear? Sure. Be miserable ? Likely. As suggested above renting decent gear for extra folks is a good option and you don't have to store it.
Let us know what you decide and how it goes. Hope the new folks have a good time and want to do it again.
