Canoecopia 2018 will be March 9th, 10th and 11th. As of this posting, Canoecopia 2018 is now just 39 days away. Traditionally, the Saturday night of the Canoecopia weekend is also the BWCA.com member dinner. I have recently booked and received confirmation from Angelo's that the lower level of their restaurant, known as “The Grotto”, has been reserved for us.
This will be the 6th consecutive year we have held the dinner at Angelo’s Italian Restaurant in Monona, Wisconsin.
Angelo’s Italian Restaurant
5801 Monona Drive
Monona, WI
It is approximately 3.5-miles from the Reliant Energy Center - the location of Canoecopia and Clarion Suites.
Aside from indulging in some great food and drinks, it's also a great occasion to socialize with other BWCA.com members and to associate some faces with names. It’s a great venue for sharing past trip adventures and other BWCA.com topics with other members. The annual dinner has spawned many canoe trip plans each year as well.
In order to make planning easier, and to give Angelo's a realistic head count, please indicate if you are attending and how many friends and/or family members will be in your party as soon as reasonably possible.
Cost:
$20.00 for those 12 and up
Children 5-12 are $10.00
Kids 5-years old and younger are free.
The aforementioned prices should cover the costs of the food, state tax and tips. As I did last year, any additional money collected over and above the cost of the dinner will be donated to the BWCA.com website. Dinner fees will be collected at Angelo’s the night of the dinner.
Traditionally, most members arrive around 6:30 PM, with the food being served around 7:00 PM. There is a full cash bar with a dedicated bartender for our group in the lower level as well.
See you there!

Thanks for doing this Hans! The band will be there along with Old Scout and his grandson so that would be 5 total so far.
Great pics by the way (Especially of my foodie fiddle player)!

We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

Love to make it work, but Mrs SunCatcher is landing in Omaha on the 11th and I don't think she would be too happy if I wasn't there to pick her up. :) Would like to make it back one of these years.
Hats off to Hans Solo for dinner coordination and working out the details. Will be there in Spirit.

Good chance I can make this one! Finally!!!

Without the bad times, the good times wouldn't seem so good.

Exited to meet some of you folks at Canoecopia!
I'll be on the show floor with my business partner (and fellow canoe nerd) slanging samples and 4-packs of our Wisco Pop! organic sodas and sparkling waters, so stop on by and say hi.
Cheers!

VoyageurNorth: "How many people are "signed up" for dinner so far? anyone know?"
If I tallied up everyone correctly, we're at 56-adults and 3-children, which includes myself and the other members of the "Solo Clan".
We've usually had approximately 60-members attending the dinner in past years, which a about right given the venue. We usually pick up a couple of members a few days before the dinner, so we're on track for another sold out show! :-)

I made some leather goods for a raffle Sat. night! All moneys collected will go to Adam and the BWCA.com fund! See you all soon!

Boy was it good to see Mitch there. Been too long.... Also good to see many new faces. As far as the "show"... Was it just me or was it extremely crowded. I wanted to buy a couple things, but I'll wait for a more peaceful venue. Midwest Mountaineering maybe?

I'm sorry I missed the dinner. I was working the show all weekend and was wiped out. Looks like everyone had a great time. Thank you for sharing pictures.
As far as the question of numbers and attendance, I'll ask, I'm stopping by the store on Friday. I know the first two days we sold more boats than last year, our group was very busy moving them in and out of the hall. The crowd to me on Saturday seemed smaller than last year but it's hard to tell. I heard the presenter rooms were very well attended.
