Happy Permit Day!
My wife and I will be celebrating our 10-year anniversary with a June 5-day trip. Entering at EP19 into Stuart Lake and looping back to EP16. Hope everyone gets the permit they are hoping for!

Happy permit day! I’m hoping for three trips this year, but it’s looking like two for sure. Stuart and Pine at on the calendar already, maybe a Gabbro Trip later on, not sure yet. Good luck to everyone booking trips today!

Well, if my son-in-law will get his vacation time locked down, he and I will be heading to EP47 early or mid June. Just need him to get the vacation time approved so I know which days to apply for.

I pulled an EP38 permit for July 2 for my daughter and me, we're going to take a week to do the Lady Chain and then across to exit at Lake One. My friend pulled an EP47 permit for August 17, and right now we're thinking we'll take ten days to do a big east-side loop.

Subject to change, plan is to enter at Seagull for a week trip, day 1 make it to Ogish, hang out a day or so, next move to either Knife or Kekekabic, hang out another day, then probably off to Ensign. Then reverse course and head back, depending on timing either back through Alpine to Seagull, or the long way, Alpine to Red Rock to Big Sag, back to Seagull, depending on weather on timing.
I hate to be on a tight schedule, like to leave a lot of leeway in our trip plan.

We're booked for EP47 on August 16, planning on staying until the 20th or 21st. Second trip, taking a couple kiddos this time. Hoping to move camp once or twice, since we base camped last time, but we'll see how it goes!

Got our late July men's group booked - Moose River North again. This time, if the guys have the energy and I don't get voted down, we'll head to Oyster and hope that some lake trout surprise us. Otherwise, stay on Agnes and day trip LLC. Always somebody in the group for whom those pictographs are a new experience.

We're going to make our first trip up the Stuart River in June. I'm so excited to get up to Iron for the first time.

Reserved EP47 with us entering on June 10th. It'll be our first trip to the BWCA. Can't wait! Only 159 days! Lol! Was going to wait until my son in law could get his vacation time dialed in but he won't be able to for a few months. Hopefully he can go with me.

I agree. I don't understand why some don't wear a pfd. I see it all the time

That's a nice area. What are your travel plans? Vista is beautiful. Also Rockwood lodge and outfitters is a fantastic place to rent from or stay in one of their bunk houses. Good burgers at trail center too.

Got my permit reserved, I am doing a solo trip out of Lake One the week of September 24th....now the which way part. It's been 30 years since I've gone this way, curious to see how the area is recovering after the forest fire a few years back:-).

We're going to stay at the Rockwood bunkhouse the night before going in and coming out. Gonna paddle/portage to Vista and basecamp while fishing all week. Oh and a Big Moose Burger at Trail Center Lodge is definitely on the menu our first and last nights up there.

My wife informed me that I need to finish a paver project before I go on my annual June solo, so I have not pulled any permits yet. I am hoping to complete this on the weekends as soon as it warms up so I can do my Beaverhouse to Moose Lake paddle.

I’ve been averaging 8 trips a calendar year for the last 5 years. So far, just 3 permits...
1. Mudro—>Crooked for fishing opener
2. Little Indian Sioux North—>LLC
This is our Border Route trip, via EP 14. We been through Crane to LLC, so we chose to use EP 14 for our entry for Border Route. We will finish the trip with the historic Grand Portage end of May...
3. Gabbro Lake- Fathers Day basecamp trip. After the Border Route, I’m sure my desire to paddle and Portage will be diminished, so I’m planning a trip with my son to Gabbro Lake for some easy sightseeing and fishing....
Cheers to everyone on a safe and exciting 2018 BWCA season!

We'll be there the same day. Have any ideas where you're headed? We've never been to that area but have been looking at maps a lot.

Nice area and a good time of year to go! I will be there about a week before you are. Can be some incredible fishing on Knife. Enjoy the trip!

#60 Duncan to show my buddies some excellent smallie fishing. Prior to our entry, we will be spending the weekend at the BW Expo and meeting Dan Cooke and Cliff Jacobson. Sounds like a perfect trip? If only I had Onematch and Kevin Callan, lined up too, it WOULD be perfect!
