I love it, but ironic timing - the dermatologist told me yesterday the sun is not my friend while she removed a couple more. I told her, "I love the sun". She said, "But the sun is not your friend". Only about 6 weeks until yard work starts here.

Here in the Twin Cities the Chickadees and Cardinals are sounding stronger and more hopeful. Cars parked in the sun are comfortable to get into now. Looking forward to Spring.

You sound like my dermatologist! :) I developed a pretty good collection of that stuff the last couple of years. I'm like bwcasolo - I like the longer, warmer days; not a big fan of winter.

February is spring in south Florida. Full moon cycles will see the bass start to bed. 92 degrees yesterday, nice!

MT, in my nearly six years in Maine, we had two days over 90 and that was two too many for me.

So will they start spawning in February?

60 degrees and rain here, wish I was fishing, but I dislocated my shoulder last month on a bad fall walking across an icy surface. At least it isn't my casting arm :)

Miss Molly when I first came to Florida some 35 years ago I would make fun of the folks walking around in big puffy coats when the temp falls into the 50's. Now I'm one of them........go to the movies or restaurant and I need a vest (poor baby ;-)

My shop hits 90's regularly.........a 40X80 ft steel warehouse building with kilns running. I'm often wringing wet before the workday is done. But now, after 35 years, when it hits 90 I'm like "yea, this feels great" ;-)

Pinetree.........its what I have been told. I have a few friends who are bass fishing guides and fish the tournaments and I get the skinny on what is going on. I was always surprised to hear the bass start to bed in mid to late February around the full moon. I basically settled here because of the Big O and the world class bass fishing but I caught the salt water bug. Tie a 10lb bass to the tail of a 10b Jack and the jack will tow it around like its not even there, tough hombres!!

2 blocks from the lake and I never fish it........go figure!

Mike, sorry to hear you crashed and burned. Not fun. Sounds like you went down hard. Be well, do the therapy and be sure to give your body what it needs to repair itself. I have been using Vega One powder. Seems like it helps me........lots of good stuff in there.

Are you talking about jack crevalle? The first time I hooked into one I thought it was going to get spooled. It ripped line off the reel like there was no tomorrow. I was fishing in a park that had brackish water and I was catching all kinds of fresh and salt water fish there. I think I was around Port St. Lucie.

As much as I enjoy paddling camping and biking, when it is winter, then it should be winter, with enough snow to Xc ski! I love a good blizzard. Now, I don't like prolonged periods of below zero temps, but I do want more than 4 inches of snow for more than 1 week.

It's too early, I want 3 mores weeks of hard water fishing.

+1
I'll take below zero temps and snow over the heat and bugs of summer every single time....

I must admit I did like winter in Michigan and embraced it. But winter in rural areas is certainly different than winter in urban areas. What I hated about urban Midwest winters was everything, and I mean everything, was grey. The sky was grey and featureless, the snow was grey and the cars were grey from salt. The trees were grey.......grey, grey, grey, blah! Go to work in the dark and drive home in the dark and live for the weekends and some hunting or ice fishing. Hmmmm........come to think of it maybe it wasn't that great after all LOL.

Yea Mike those Jack Crevalle are tough customers. When I get the whole mother ship / canoe trip thing wired you will need to make your way down and you can catch jacks while I catch snook ;-)
