Looking at a new Northstar this spring and I assume these are the best times to buy. Does anyone know what to expect for discounts at each of these shows? Do they limit to stock on hand or do they take orders at the sale price?

I bought my NorthStar there last year. They offered a 10% show discount. I believe they bring quite a few boats to the show. There are a bunch of options available to take advantage of the Copia pricing. Check out the webpage. I bought a blem they had there, but they said if I wanted to order a boat I could arrange to pick it up in Madison or Princeton Mn.

Both venues offer a good selection at competitive prices. Check their websites for current information or call them if you’re looking for something specific.

Piragis periodically sells Northstar canoes at 10% off, just as a regular sale, on everything including special orders. I got mine that way, and picked it up in Princeton. Might check that option too.

Atb........ if you pick it up in Princeton we may need to take it out for it's first spin..... I think your old SR is anxious to get out..... when it warmed up on Wed. I think it started to move around in it's hanging spot.

That would be fun! I’m sure the SR is getting restless.

Yep I asked Steve if he would match Canoecopia's discount for my Northwind Solo on special order and it was no problem at Piragis

Lots of canoes are auctioned each year at MM. So if a used canoe will do, plan to attend the auction, last Saturday in April. I will be presenting on my epic Alaska Highway Trip later that day.

Joes Sporting Goods in Little Canada has put them on sale in March each of the past few years. I bought my Northwind 17 there three years ago. It was a 10% off.

FYI: Piragis has Kevlar canoes at 10% off now through Mar 23 with free shipping. There's a Northwind 18 that is headed my way soon!

While at Canoecopia this year I spoke to the owner of Wenonah and he indicated the pricing on boats was 6% of list at the show and I think that holds for all boats at the show as the boats are already Rutabaga stock so it is likely the Rutabaga discount. I use to work at the show and the Rutabaga boat buyer told me all the boats in stock for the show were Rutabaga inventory. My recall was they had a very large number of boats (maybe up to 1800, but I don't recall exactly) available during the show with most of them in the warehouse.
