Where do you live? What is your budget (approx.)?

Definitely keep an eye on Craigslist, though be prepared to move fast if it's what you're looking for and in your price range. If you're going to be paddling a lot with kids consider a lightweight aluminum (like a used Alumacraft QT-17cl or Voyageur model). Light enough to portage and use in the BWCA, yet durable enough to handle abuse from kids. And, more importantly, easy to find for under $500.
Also worth checking various BWCA outfitters to see what they have for sale.

I found mine through allcraigslistsearch.com. You have to refresh it often because it does not do so automatically. You will need to act quick if you find what you are looking for too. If it is out of State you may have to prove you are not a bot or a scam before you can get the owner to reply. A hint is pay through Payp*l or similar site for yours and the sellers protection. The other option is use only USPS money orders and sent by overnight. This gives you a record and the USPS will investigate if it happens to be a scam (mail fraud). Also if you need transport for your canoe check with nctry (his name is Ben)on this site. Great guy and is currently transporting mine.

HighnDry: "How does one do that?"
What, kill an embedded or otherwise unproperly closed quote? One needs to reply to the thread with several < /quote> tags (without the space between the < and /). I say several because sometimes one doesn't cut it and extra ones won't hurt as they'd be ignored if there wasn't a < quote> tag for the < /quote> to close.
In this particular instance it's because when Fishman83 quoted Mick85 he deleted the > at the end of the quote tag.... effectively rendering it useless to the html processor.

Got it! Thanks. I have my work website that I have to maintain or pay my web developer to do. Anything I can do myself helps. It's also quite useful because once we get that italics phenomena going in a thread, it's tough to read. Thanks again.

I wanted to say thank you everyone for your help. I decided to go with a Grumman. I know it’s aluminum and I know they are a little heavier but the price was right. I appreciate all that you have done for me. Have a great season and stay safe.
