Headed to the Seagull area entering June 2. Has anyone had good smallmouth fishing on Alpine, Jasper, or Tern? Also any other fishing info on the area would be greatly appreciated!

theres smallies through out that area(like most of the BW) , i would add kingfisher to that list and remove tern. if i was to do a trip and target smallies in this area. there is a real lot of down trees from the fire along a lot of these shorelines , basically a million + shadows. stay out and make long accurate cast with lures like these, but when your lure hits the water wait until all the rings disappear before retrieve , if a fish is there he saw it , slow your roll ;).

Last trip caught a lot of smallies on Red Rock, one portage north of Alpine. My son also caught this walleye from shore on Red Rock:

Have you fished tern? Have heard good things about it?

no i have not fished it personally , just from what i've read and heard. there are smallies and small pike in there , murky water by BW standards , any lake thats off the beaten path with no campsites can be a sleeper ?
1 lake not mentioned is rog lake , many claim the smallies are getting fat off the brook trout stocking in rog , i would put rog above tern or kingfisher and you would be helping the lake by taking some for campmeat ;)

Our group will also be entering at Seagull on June 2nd. We will be basecamped on Alpine and fish Alpine, Seagull, Rog, Jasper and Red Rock for walleyes and smallmouth. Additionally, I hope that we can catch some lake trout as they are one of my bucket list fish.

For lake trout... troll a purple deep taildancer as you paddle across seagull. You might get snagged on the bottom as you pass over shallow spots. Just back up and you'll usually be able to get your lure.

If you want to be safer, look at a lake map and find spots with 40-100 feet of water. And only troll over those spots.

There are also a few lakers in the deeper sections of Alpine but there aren't very many.

Lots of folks target lakers on Jasper but I've never got one there...
