Just sharing some ice fishing pics from our year. It's a great clan that I hang with, We did alright this year. My oldest stepson put in some hours this year and was rewarded with a 13# pike and a couple of walleyes not pictured.

Here are some pics of our nicer fish. Most of the walleyes were CPR. One night, we caught three 'eyes over 4# and one over 5#. Two were released and two were gut swallowed. We put our time in. ;)

Looks like you got it going on! I like your shanty.......we occasionally used a portable one, still fun but could be a hassle to set up on a cold day. How cool would it be to just walk out and get inside.

Fine looking fish!!

Do you move your shack around a lot?

Or are you just in 1 killer spot?

thanks Jeff , just 1 spot and almost all on tip ups (some out of the shacks) and the guys did extremely well on crappies this winter too((((Brad))) ;)
one guy i work with who fished with me once but see the pics every year said , what were doing goes against all the rules for walleye fishing ;)
i've been fishing Waconia since the late 80's and a lot of our success has come from me doing a lot of scouting on foot , when i was a younger man ;) and tweaking my tip up set ups through the years. the guys do give me a lot of props for our success and do listen to me LOL ,
i did find a mini hump/edge if you will in fairly shallow water , i believe it's somewhat of a funneling type spot. but it also does have to do with putting in our time and knowing our past history helps when you do go days without a flag, the confidence is always there and 1 never knows when !
i will also fish this spot in may with CD9 and jig spinners before the weeds/milfoil starts taking over.
Jeff i did mention to you i would share my tip up set ups with you ;)

the best advise i can give anyone when it comes to ice fishing is , get AWAY from the crowds/groups of houses.
the other shack/guy thats in our vicinity that i became friends with , both of us said if shacks start coming into our area we'll move.
there was a 3rd shack that moved into this spot 2 years ago and i know they had a good winter((was driving up to my shack 1 day and they were jacked about something)) but this last year they didnt stay all winter. Hmm
