I've reviewed past posts but haven't found info on this or the links are no longer active. If I've missed it, my apologies & please point me in the right direction!

I've reviewed the legal requirements to camp in La Verendrye.

I'm interested in knowing the locations of good campsites on the Canadian side of Rose, South, North lakes and Arrow Lake. I know campsites are unofficial, but I'd have to think there are better locations than others and I wonder if you seasoned veterans would share your knowledge. I'm also interested in any history of these lakes & locations and if there are fun things to see or do. (We won't be fishing on the Canadian side). Going in after ice out.

Thanks in advance!

I’ll help you out a bit since nobody else has jumped in. The east end of Rose has two points on the Canadian side that people camp on. It’s definitely worth the paddle to check out the cliffs on Arrow lake as long as it’s not windy. There aren’t any good places to camp on the Canadian side of South that I know of. On North, the biggest of the little islands in Sac bay is a neat place to camp. Hopefully there’s not any trash on the island. If you go at the end of May or beginning of June there’s a chance that there will be a boat or two night fishing in Sac bay. The big point leading into Sac bay is another place that people camp.

Hi Walley Hunter,

Thanks very much for your response. It gave me an opportunity to yet again pull out my maps & mark them up with new information. My best to you & your future BWCA adventures! Ted
