Hi All,

Thinking of doing a quick weekend trip in June and staying at Flour Lake camp ground and maybe trying to fish Swamp Lake for a day.

It looks like there is a road/trail that intersects with the portage, which looks much easier/faster than paddling from the public access all the way on the west side of Poplar lake.

My other option is to see if Trail Center would let me launch from their access, but I don't want to rely on that...

Any tips or advice about the lake would also be welcome!

I’m pretty sure you are looking at the Banadad Ski Trail. Little Ollie Road, which is closer to the south shore, leads to private property. Maybe you should contact Boundary Country Trekking or Cascade Vacation rentals (Poplar Creek Retreat) to see if you could park somewhere there.

We parked somewhere in the area one year when poplar was iced up but swamp was open. There were a couple other cars parked and a well used portage into swamp
